We are here to help Electrical Contractors maximize your return on the scrap wire your operation generates every day. Wouldn’t it be nice to know that you are getting the best price possible for your scrap wire, automatically, every time, without you spending one minute dealing with it? Are you tired of having your employees waste time going to the scrap yard where you have no idea if you are receiving a fair price and weight or not, instead of doing the electrical work you pay them for? Have you ever been concerned about unscrupulous scrap dealers guessing how much wire you have or trusting them to weigh it at their shop and then sending you a check? If you answered yes to any of the above then you need Copperhounds! We will weigh your scrap with our NTEP Certified for trade portable scales at your location and cut you a check on the spot (or pay in cash if you prefer). We ALWAYS pay at least 5% above what the legitimate scrap yards pay. We pay top price regardless of how much wire you have. Our current prices are always posted at www.copperhounds.com. Copperhounds can pay you more because we recycle the wire in house instead of buying it and then reselling it to companies that do what we do (like the scrap yards). There is no middleman and less transportation and handling costs so we can pay you MORE for your scrap. We have a very efficient processing operation that can retrieve up to 90% of the metal from insulated wire. Our new machinery and low overhead allow us to pay you top dollar first time, every time. As much as 3-5% of the wire you buy every year ends up as scrap. How much of that lost profit is your company retrieving? Over my 20+ year management career in the Electrical Trade I have seen first hand how much of that scrap wire walks away. With our Recycling Program in place at your shop and / or jobsite(s) you will discourage dishonest employees from stealing your scrap! Copperhounds will provide various types of containers to collect your scrap at no cost to you. These range from simple boxes on pallets to dump trailers for massive projects with a lot of demolition work. No matter what kind of container we provide, they are all marked with the tare weight for your protection and they are always provided at no cost to you. We will service your shop and / or large jobsites on a regular route or you can simply call us when your container(s) need emptied. Sorting Information COPPERHOUNDS RECYCLES ALL OF THE FOLLOWING.
Generally, tolling is for scrap yards, but some utilities or very large contractors prefer this arrangement instead of just selling us your scrap. If you produce or purchase large quantities of scrap wire and want to do the sorting and marketing of the sorted material yourself we can process your cable with our equipment for a toll. This process is straight-forward and quite fast. Depending on the type of wire, our equipment can process 600 to 1100 pounds per hour. Our base fee includes machine time, forklift, scale, and machine labor only, it does not include the sorting of scrap, packaging material, or transportation cost. You bring us the wire and you pick up the finished product. This does include the disposal of the insulation unless you want it back. Currently we are charging $350 per thousand INFEED weight. Pallet, box, and bag cost (3 each) is $45 per 10,000 pounds. Drum or Super Sack packaging is available at an additional cost. Alternatively we do make agreements to do the sorting as well as the processing based on the following formula: Money from sale of material minus packaging and transportation cost minus your cost (as agreed in advance) minus our cost (as agreed in advance) and split the profit. This is a more complicated arrangement but can be mutually beneficial to both parties due to the fact that we can get a higher price for the processed material than 99.9% of scrap dealers can, we would like to talk to you in detail about it. |
